US beats Puerto Rico in NORCECA semis

LANGLEY, British Columbia (AP) — Matt Anderson had 15 points to help the United States beat Puerto Rico 25-13, 24-26, 25-20, 25-16 on Friday night to advance to the NORCECA continental volleyball championship.

The U.S. will play Cuba, which beat Canada in the other semifinal, in the final Saturday night at the Langley Events Center.

Reid Priddy and Max Holt each added 12 points for the U.S. Sanchez Sequiel led Puerto Rico with nine.

The winner of the continental tournament qualifies for the FIVB Grand Champions Cup in November in Japan.
