Salmon Creek — On March 13, Cascade Flooring America helped put a floor under — and a roof over — women and families in need of housing. The store on Northeast Highway 99 held its eighth annual benefit auction and raised $18,000 for Second Step Housing, a nonprofit agency that helps women out of homelessness. More than 100 people attended the event, which featured music and food, as well as donated auction items. Second Step client Alicia Fletty, now a certified nursing assistant and student at Clark College, shared her story of recovery and success.
