A Jemtegaard Middle School girl’s design skills helped her win a Washougal Schools Foundation art contest to find a logo for its annual fun run, the Student Stride for Education. Eighth-grader Taylor Grasseth’s drawing of the Stride Cat mascot won her that honor, and she was honored at a March 28 assembly. Taylor is a student in Gabrielle Iverson’s advanced art class. The Student Stride for Education, a 5K run/walk, will be held May 17 at Washougal High School’s Fishback Stadium.
