Seventeen businesses will be honored Wednesday for their commitment to environmental protection by participating in Clark County’s Green Business Program.

The third annual Green Business Showcase will recognize new program participants, as well as businesses that continue to reduce energy use, promote recycling, manage polluted storm runoff and implement other sustainable practices.

The event will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site’s Artillery Barracks, 600 Hatheway Road.

Although the showcase is geared toward businesses, it is also open to the public. Cost is $10, which includes hors d’oeuvres.

The first half of the event will be an informal reception when attendees can talk with representatives from participating businesses and examine informational tables about the Green Business Program and its participants.

The second half will include speakers from participating businesses, an awards ceremony for inaugural businesses and the premiere of the program’s 2014 video.

To register for the April 16 event, visit www.clarkgreenbiz.com.
