Letter: Nature will run its course

The Columbian
Published: April 19, 2014, 5:00pm

Nearly all the actions, past and recent, of the M&M plus B boys, i.e., Commissioners David Madore and Tom Mielke, and state Sen. Don Benton, R-Vancouver, remind me of the story about the scorpion and the frog.

For those who may not have heard it: a scorpion was sitting beside a stream wanting to get to the other side, but alas he couldn’t swim. When a frog came by, the scorpion asked for a ride across. “But won’t you sting me?” said the frog. The scorpion assured the frog he wouldn’t sting him so they started across the stream with the scorpion riding on the frog’s back. Halfway to the other side, the scorpion arched his tail and stung the frog. As they both were sinking, the frog said “Why did you do that? Now we’ll both die.” The scorpion replied, “I can’t help it, it’s just my nature.”

It just must be their nature.
