Oregon Archaeological Society honors cultural institute, lab supervisor

Hudson’s Bay: The Northwest Cultural Resources Institute at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site and lab supervisor Katie Wynia won the Oregon Archaeological Society’s top honor this month for providing significant archaeological volunteer opportunities. The President’s Award was given to Wynia and Robert Cromwell, a National Park Service archaeologist at Fort Vancouver who represented the institute during the April 1 award ceremony. The Oregon Archaeological Society works closely with the institute as well as its partner Portland State University, according to a press release.
