FREE HERITAGE GOSPEL NIGHT begins at 6 p.m. Aug. 17 at First Church of God, 3300 N.E. 78th St., Vancouver. The Townesmen & Shelly Quartet, with Fourever HIS Gospel Quartet, Mercy River Quartet and Hearts Devoted will be featured. An offering will be taken.

SHALOM CHAPTER OF HADASSAH, VANCOUVER will sell 8-ounce gift jars of kosher honey that will be shipped in time for Rosh Hashana on Sept. 24. Cost is $10 per jar, $9 per jar for orders of 25 or more, including shipping and personal gift cards. All proceeds will benefit Hadassah projects in Israel and the U.S. Payment must be received by Aug. 18. It is Rosh Hashanah tradition to dip apples in honey to usher in the New Year.
