MOUNT ANGEL, Ore. — Police say a man who killed his ex-girlfriend’s mother took his own life in a standoff with police over the weekend at Mount Angel.
The ex-girlfriend escaped the home early Saturday with her 15-month-old son and called police.
KOIN reports that during the standoff the man threatened to take his own life and yelled for police to shoot him.
When they entered the home later Saturday officers found Daniel Cuanas dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and Kathleen Schwartz dead in a back bedroom.
