A report of shots fired at a residence northeast of the Clark County fairgrounds turned out to be a vehicle backfiring.

Emergency responders originally heard that a residence at 1813 N.E. 191st Circle was on fire. Firefighters with Clark County Fire & Rescue staged nearby, waiting for clearance from police. They were called off after police determined that the shots fired was simply a problem with a vehicle, said Division Chief Mike Jackson.

The report of shots fired was unfounded, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office said.
