Esther Short — Community members gathered recently for a candlelight vigil to honor the memory of 132 children killed by the Taliban at a Pakistani school. The Islamic Society of Southwest Washington and members of other Clark County faith groups organized the peace vigil Saturday afternoon at Esther Short Park to bring attention to and mourn the killing of schoolchildren and teachers at the Army Public School in Peshawar on Dec. 16.
