Vancouver police are investigating a shooting that occurred early this morning near Eighth and Main streets.

Portland police initially reported the incident after a victim showed up at a Portland hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound at about 4 a.m.

According to police, the shooting actually occurred in downtown Vancouver. There are no other known victims.

No arrests have been made. No names were released. Vancouver major crimes detectives will investigate.

Already there have been two shootings today. At about 3:30 a.m. sheriff’s deputies were called to the Five Corners area off Northeast Covington Road after a reported shooting at a house party. One person was treated for gunshot wounds and released as a result of that incident.
