WALLA WALLA — A former judge in Walla Walla County pleaded guilty Tuesday to possessing child pornography that was found on his computer when he took it to a repair shop.

Seventy-year-old John Junke will be sentenced later this month before a judge visiting Walla Walla County Superior Court. The standard sentence is about seven years in prison.

The Union-Bulletin reports Junke intends to seek treatment, and the prosecutor is recommending a sex-offender alternative with less than a year in jail and three years of treatment.

Junke served as a District Court judge from 1991 through 1994. He resigned from the state bar in 2006 rather than face disbarment for an unethical relationship with woman client.
