Susan G. Komen Oregon and Southwest Washington is hosting its 16th annual Breast Cancer Issues Conference next month.
The conference is from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 1, at DoubleTree Hotel Portland, 1000 N.E. Multnomah St. The registration deadline is Feb. 24; cost to attend is $50. Some scholarships are available.
The event keynote speaker is Lisa Coussens a researcher and associate director at the Knight Cancer Institute at Oregon Health & Science University. Coussens and other experts will cover all aspects of current cancer research and treatment.
Breakout sessions will cover a variety of topics, including hereditary breast cancer syndromes, updates on radiation therapy, benefits of diet and exercise, the impact of breast cancer on sexuality and groups at high risk, such as African American women.
