• Scott Miller, senior vice president of marketing for Riverview Community Bank in Vancouver, has been appointed to the Northwest Association for Blind Athletes’ board of directors. The nonprofit association provides sports and physical activities to individuals who are blind or visually impaired.

• NWCPA, a Ridgefield certified public accounting and financial consulting firm, has acquired the accounting and tax practice of Sharon Davenport. Tanya Carter formerly employed by Sharon Davenport, is joining NWCPA as a junior accountant. Other new employees are Abby Kemp, a Clark College student and Domino’s Pizza manager; and Elayne Di Yorio, a former program manager at Accenture.

• The Fort Vancouver National Trust has elected six new members to its board of trustees. They are: George Bryant, retired former Army public works director at Fort Lewis and former facility maintenance and operations director for Vancouver Public Schools; Rod Cook, owner of Alpine Auto Body; Linda Glover, executive director of Gifts For Our Community; Marilyn Norris, community volunteer and former board member of Portland Center Stage; Paul Speer, retired vice president at Hewlett-Packard; and George Van Hoomissen, president of Woodland-based machinery company USNR, LLC. The board’s new officers are Ed Lynch, executive board chair and Academy campaign chair; Steve Horenstein, board chair; Bing Sheldon, strategic planning chair; Stacey Graham, vice chair; Brad Carlson, secretary; and Kim Capeloto, treasurer.

Other business news

• Biggs Insurance Services, Personal Lines Division, has earned the Safeco Insurance Award of Excellence for superior underwriting skill. The award honors outstanding agencies that have developed a solid underwriting relationship with Safeco and have qualified for the Safeco Insurance Premier Partner Award, the company’s top recognition program.
