Cancer researcher to speak at Relay for Life event

A cancer researcher at Oregon Health & Sciences University will speak about her current cancer prevention studies at an event this week.

The event begins at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at 6:8 Church, 8802 N.W. Ninth Ave. in Vancouver. The event is hosted by Relay for Life of Vancouver and the American Cancer Society.

Research is just one thing funded by the money raised at Relay for Life. OHSU in Portland currently has 10 research grants from the American Cancer Society with more than $5 million in funding.
