PORTLAND — The potential for legal troubles keeps growing for Lake Oswego biotech firm Galena Biopharma.

The tally of law firms investigating potential class-action lawsuits against the company has climbed to at least seven so far, following questions over recent promotional campaign by the firm. The firms are investigating whether Galena infringed upon shareholder protection laws.

Galena is already in Oregon federal court over another issue, having sued the principal coinventor of its potential breast cancer vaccine over his online comments criticizing the firm. The case is pending.
