The Storm shook off a tough loss to Mount Rainier and overcame a slow start to earn third place in the 4A bi-district tournament.

Skyview will face Newport of Bellevue in the 4A regionals next weekend. The game time, date and site wil be announced Sunday.

Skyview (22-2) got off to a cold shooting start and trailed Bellarmine Prep of Tacoma 6-5 after one quarter. But the Storm would open a 21-12 lead by halftime that was not threatened in the second half.

“It was a great team effort of defending well and rebounding well that got us going,” Skyview coach Jennifer Buscher said. “That was really the key to the game.”

Aubrey Ward-El battled back from foul trouble to lead Skyview with 11 points, and Jocelyn Adams and Genevieve Lo added 10 each.
