ONTARIO, Ore. — Authorities say freezing rain created such hazardous conditions in Eastern Oregon that Interstate 84 was closed Tuesday morning between Ontario and La Grande.
Lt. Mark Duncan of the State Police tells the Ontario Argus Observer there were “numerous rollovers” and several jackknifed trucks after the rain went through late Monday.
He says the most hazardous conditions are at the northern part, where the Interstate crosses the Blue Mountains.
