OLYMPIA — The mother of a slain 2-year-old Olympia-area girl has been arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder.
KIRO reports Monique Lynn Hachtel was booked early Thursday into the Thurston County Jail.
The coroner’s office said Wednesday her daughter Kelsy died of multiple internal injuries due to blunt force abdominal trauma.
Sheriff’s deputies and medics responded early Tuesday to a home in the Tanglewild neighborhood where the 2-year-old was unconscious. She could not be revived.
Six other children that lived there have been taken into custody by Child Protective Services.
