Members of the Evergreen School Board unanimously selected Rob Perkins to fill the vacant District 2 school director position at its Feb. 25 regular meeting.

Perkins replaces longtime board member Joan Skelton, who resigned in December.

A 1987 graduate of the district’s Mountain View High School, Perkins is the chief technology officer at Finite Solutions. He completed computer science and electronics engineering coursework at Brigham Young University. He is working on a general studies degree with a history emphasis.

Perkins is the father of five children who have graduated from or are currently attending Evergreen schools.

A longtime school volunteer, Perkins also has served on the district’s instructional materials and ad-hoc budget committees.

He will be sworn in during the March 11 school board meeting and will serve out the remaining term until the November 2015 election.

Evergreen Public Schools, the state’s fourth-largest school district, has nearly 27,000 students attending 37 schools.
