Colts get another extension to sell tickets

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The NFL is giving the Colts one more day to sell its remaining playoff tickets and avoid a local blackout. They now have until Friday at 4:35 p.m.

Team officials announced the move on its website Thursday, about an hour before a previous extension was supposed to expire. Fewer than 3,500 tickets remain for Saturday’s wild-card game against Kansas City (11-5). The team said it had about 5,500 tickets left Wednesday night.

Normally, teams must sell out 72 hours before kickoff to have a game broadcast in the local market. But the league initially gave Indy (11-5) a one-day extension, citing this week’s holiday.

Indy isn’t the only team that has been struggling with ticket sales. The Packers and Bengals also had tickets remaining as of Wednesday night.
