Eastern Kentucky beats Eastern Illinois 100-81

CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) — Glen Cosey scored 34 points and shot 10 of 12 from beyond the arc Thursday, setting a new school record for 3-pointers, as Eastern Kentucky beat Eastern Illinois 100-81 in an Ohio Valley Conference contest.

Cosey scored six treys in the first half and smashed the school record of seven 3-pointers. His 10 3-pointers ties an Ohio Valley conference record.

Corey Walden scored 17, Marcus Lewis, 14, and Timmy Knipp added 10 for Eastern Kentucky (10-4, 1-0).

Eastern Kentucky never trailed. Cosey hit back-to-back 3-pointers to make it 17-13 and the Colonels scored 10 3-pointers in the half to take a 56-36 halftime lead.

Cosey hit four more 3-pointers in the second half and the Colonels pulled away, shooting 59.6 percent from the field compared with 52.6 percent for the Panthers (4-9, 1-1).

Sherman Blanford led Eastern Illinois with 23 points, while Reggie Smith had 18 and Dylan Chatman, 11.
