HILLSBORO, Ore. — Police in the Portland suburb of Hillsboro say they arrested an Oregon Department of Human Services on-call caseworker for investigation of drunken driving while the woman reportedly was responding to an abuse incident to help officers on New Year’s Eve.

The Oregonian reports that Lt. Mike Rouches says the woman told police she was an on-call caseworker. Police reportedly notified her supervisor of the arrest. The newspaper says an agency spokesman could not be reached for comment Thursday.

Rouches says police stopped a car in the parking lot of the Department of Human Services’ Hillsboro office after a caller reported a possibly impaired driver.

Rouches identified the arrested woman as 26-year-old Alysse Renee Carlson of Beaverton. It was not known late Thursday whether she was represented by a lawyer.
