Delaware State outlasts Campbell 70-60

BUIES CREEK, N.C. (AP) — Casey Walker scored a career-high 30 points as Delaware State outlasted Campbell 70-60 on Saturday night.

Delaware State (4-10) erased a first-half deficit and used a 13-4 run in the second half to break a tie at 40 and hold off Campbell (6-9) down the stretch.

The Fighting Camels closed to within 55-53 with 5:39 left in the game but Delaware State responded with a 7-2 run capped by a Walker 3-pointer with 3:03 remaining. The Hornets made 8 of 10 free throws in the final minute of the game to maintain the lead.

Kendall Gray had 11 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks for Delaware State. Kendal Williams added 12 points and Tyshawn Bell had 11.

D.J. Mason led Campbell with 18 points and Reco McCarter added 14. Campbell, which entered the game at 35 percent from 3-point range, made just 2 of 21 attempts against the Hornets.
