UC Santa Barbara rolls past Master’s 81-52

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) — Alan Williams scored 23 points and hauled in 12 rebounds as UC Santa Barbara coasted past Master’s College of the NAIA 81-52 Saturday night.

Nursing a one-point lead in the first half, the Gauchos (9-4) pulled away with a 21-2 surge, coasting into a 41-24 advantage at the break. Michael Bryson ignited the run with a 3-pointer and Kyle Boswell hit two of his own, with the second pushing the lead to 20.

UC Santa Barbara led by as much as 31 in the second half, finishing 50 percent from the field and hitting 12 3-pointers. Boswell scored 14 points and Mitch Brewe added 11 with 10 boards for the Gauchos.

Master’s shot 19 of 55 on field goal attempts (35 percent) and was outrebounded 45-28. Derrick Fain led the Mustangs with 13 points and Bernard Ireland contributed 11.
