MORAGA, Calif. (AP) — Kerry Carter led St. Mary’s with 19 points as the Gaels coasted past NAIA member William Jessup 84-46 on Monday.

St. Mary’s (12-4) shot 55 percent from the floor, including 11 of 24 (46 percent) from beyond the arc. Treaven Duffy had 13 points while Brad Waldow and Eividas Petrulis added 11 for St. Mary’s.

William Jessup got 11 points from Caleb Richey and was held to 27 percent shooting, hitting just 7 of 27 on 3-pointers.

Jessup led 5-0 through the first 4:20 of the game. The official TV timeout at 15:40 seemed to wake up St. Mary’s, as it went on a 15-3 run en route to a 36-20 halftime advantage to take control of the game.

St. Mary’s poured it on in the second half, as an 18-0 run by the Gaels really opened the score up. William Jessup went 5:32 early in the frame without scoring.
