Boys basketball: Evergreen 77, Heritage 37

A solid second quarter gave the Plainsmen a double-digit lead, and a big third quarter produced a one-sided final score.

Three players scored in double figures as the host Plainsmen opened Class 4A Greater St. Helens League play with a 40-point win.

Robert Franks scored 11 of his 15 points in the third quarter, helping the Plainsmen outscore the Timberwolves 30-9 in the period.

Evergreen led 12-10 after the first quarter, with Jordan Henderson scoring six of his 10 points. In the second period, Jalen Ballard scored six of his 13 points as the Plainsmen stretched their lead to 14.
