Letter: Danger ahead with delivery drones

The Columbian
Published: January 7, 2014, 4:00pm

There are at least four negative aspects to having drones flying over our heads. As with all technological advances, there are applications that give one pause. Specifically:

o Domestic surveillance by government(s).

o A roofing contractor wanting to sell you a new roof — or even anyone wanting to know what you’re wearing, or not wearing, while sunbathing.

o Accidents involving drones resulting in property damage or injury — who pays?

o Someone loading a drone with explosives and flying into the ninth floor of corporate headquarters.

Perhaps this is not the time for domestic drones.
