Wild star Zach Parise and wife welcome twins

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Zach Parise has become the latest Minnesota sports star to be a father of twins.

The Wild announced that Parise’s wife, Alisha, gave birth Wednesday to Emelia and Jaxson, a girl and a boy. Last year, Twins catcher Joe Mauer and his wife, Maddie, welcomed girls Emily and Maren.

Mauer and Parise both grew up in the Twin Cities area: Mauer in St. Paul and Parise in Bloomington.

Mauer had to rush home from a road trip to be with his wife when she went into labor last July, but Parise didn’t have to worry about that. The left wing is out with a foot injury.
