CHENEY, Wash. (AP) — Martin Seiferth scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds Thursday night and Tyler Harvey added 25 points as Eastern Washington beat Montana 69-62 for its first Big Sky Conference win of the season.

Venky Jois scored 14 points and the Eagles (6-8, 1-2) outshot the Grizzlies (6-6, 1-2) 45 percent to 44 percent.

Eastern Washington opened with three quick baskets and led by as many as 12 points, but Montana came back and trailed 32-31 at halftime.

Montana took a 33-32 lead on a jumper by Andy Martin, but the Eagles were soon back on top, and extended their lead to eight with 2:01 to play. Montana’s Kareem Jamar made back-to-back layups to make it a six-point game, but the Eagles held off the surge and Parker Kelly added a free throw to ensure the win.

Keron DeShields scored 17 for Montana, Jordan Gregory 13, and Jamar 10.
