No. 23 Arizona St holds off USC in OT, 94-86

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Katie Hempen 3-pointer with 3:34 left in overtime gave No. 23 Arizona State the lead and the Sun Devils made it stand up by converting 6 of 8 from the line to hold off USC, 94-86 Friday night.

Alexyz Vaioletama drilled a 3 with :02 left in regulation to tie the game at 77-77, then hit a jumper early in overtime to make it 79-79. Courtney Jaco gave the Trojans the lead, 81-79.

Adrianne Thomas had a layup to give Arizona State (13-2, 2-1 Pac 12) a three-point lead and added a pair of free throws that made it 89-85 with :46 left. Promise Amukamara hit 3 of 4 from the line to make it 92-86 and Joy Burke capped the scoring with a layup in the closing seconds.

Deja Mann led the Sun Devils with 21 points.

Vaioletama had 21 for USC (10-6, 3-1 Pac 12).
