Campbell charges back to beat Longwood 75-67

FARMVILLE, Va. (AP) — Reco McCarter scored 23 points to lead Campbell to a 75-67 victory over Longwood Saturday.

Darius Leonard contributed 10 points for Campbell (8-9, 2-0 Big South).

Longwood (5-12, 0-2) had a 36-28 lead at the half, but the Camels, who made 63 percent of their field goals in the second half, outscored Longwood 47-31 in the second period.

The Lancers extended their lead to 56-43 at the midway point of the second half and were ahead 60-50 with 7:44 remaining.

McCarter dunked and Antwon Oliver followed with a dunk that started Campbell on a 25-7 run to finish the game.

The Camels won the rebound battle 39 to 28.

Tristan Carey, who made 6 of 15 3-pointers, led Longwood with 26 points and 9 rebounds. Karl Ziegler added 16 points.
