Norfolk State defeats Maryland-Eastern Shore 66-62

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) — Pendarvis Williams scored 18 points and pulled down seven rebounds as Norfolk State defeated Maryland-Eastern Shore 66-62 on Saturday.

Williams went 4-for-4 from the line in the final seconds to seal the win for the Spartans (9-7, 3-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) and hand the Hawks their 11th straight loss.

Anell Alexis and Kievyn Lila-St. Rose each scored 13 points for the Spartans. Brandon Goode added 12.

With the score tied 17-17 at 8:15 in the first period, Norfolk State went 28-8 in five minutes to go up 35-25. The Spartans led by five going into the break. A 7-0 spurt to start the second half extended their lead to 13.

The Hawks (2-13, 0-3) came within four, 54-50, on a Devon Walker 3-pointer at 8:19 in the second but could not overtake the Spartans.

Walker led the Hawks with 12 points. Troy Snyder had 11 points and six rebounds.
