NEW YORK (AP) — Akeem Williams scored 23 points and finished with nine assists to lead Massachusetts-Lowell in a 71-59 victory over Binghamton on Saturday afternoon.

Binghamton went up 39-33 to start the second half. Two quick 3-pointers from Chad Holley and Williams tied the game and sparked a 20-0 run that gave the River Hawks a 53-39 advantage with 9:16 to play.

The Bearcats (4-12, 1-2) shot well from the free-throw line (81.3 percent) but struggled from the floor, missing 23 shot attempts in the second half and shooting 4 of 21 from 3-point range. Yosef Yacob led Binghamton with 22 points.
