Coley leads Stony Brook past Hartford 73-50

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Dave Coley scored 15 of his 20 points in the second half and had a career-high seven assists to lead Stony Brook past Hartford 73-50 on Sunday.

Coley made 8 of his 13 attempts for Stony Brook (10-6, 2-0 America East), and Jameel Warney finished with 16 points. Ahmad Walker, a redshirt freshman, scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for his first career double-double.

Warney hit a jumper and then Coley scored seven straight to open the second half. Coley’s three-point play gave Stony Brook a 54-43 lead with 8:50 remaining, and the Seawolves led by double digits the rest of the way.

Nate Sikma scored a layup to give Hartford its largest lead of the game, 20-10 with 8:07 to play in the first half. The Seawolves answered with a 16-5 run to lead 26-25 at halftime.

Wes Cole scored 15 points to lead Hartford (7-11, 1-2).
