CrossFit Fort Vancouver crowns champs

Austin Stack and Cole Sager won the men’s championship at the CrossFit Fort Vancouver Invitational workout competition.

Stack, from Medford, Ore., and Sager, from Seattle, scored 640 points to win the men’s championship at the event that included 64 top competitive exercise athletes competing Saturday and Sunday at the Clark County Event Center.

The women’s champions were Rory Zambard of Bellevue and Jenn Jones of Houston, Texas, who finished with 616 points. CrossFit Fort Vancouver’s team of Jessica Core and Erin Taylor finished second with 579 points.

Adam Neiffer and Jerome Perryman, representing host CrossFit Fort Vancouver, finished in fourth place. Their 535 points was six fewer than third place team of DJ Nayens and Apollo Lewis.

Held for the first time, the two-day invitational included a variety of timed workouts designed to test strength, agility, endurance and teamwork.
