NJIT cruises past City College of New York 99-60

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Odera Nweke scored 12 points and pulled down 15 rebounds to lead the New Jersey Institute of Technology breezed past City College of New York 99-60 Monday night.

NJIT (8-10) closed the first half with a 21-8 run, taking a 51-29 advantage into the break.

The Highlanders then opened the second half with a 14-4 spurt to open up a 65-33 lead. They led by as much a 46.

NJIT dominated the interior, using a 53-24 rebounding advantage, including 38-16 on the defensive glass, to outscore CCNY (3-8) 40-16 in the paint and 20-5 on second-chance opportunities.

Jake Duncan added a career-high 20 points for the Highlanders.

CCNY never led and shot just 31.8 percent (35 of 66) for the game. Anthony Lewis paced the Beavers with 11 points and eight rebounds.
