DOVER, Del. (AP) — Jamel Fuentes scored 14 points to lead Norfolk State past Delaware State 58-56 in a back-and-forth battle on Monday night.

The Spartans ran their regular season conference winning streak to 23 games, the longest such run in the country. Norfolk State’s last conference loss came against Delaware State on Feb. 15, 2012.

Delaware State (4-12, 0-4) was paced by Kendall Gray with 20 points and Tyshawn Bell added 11.

Thomas layup and a Kendall Gray dunk. Norfolk State then went 1-for-2 from the line giving Delaware State one final chance, but Thomas missed the game winning 3-pointer at the buzzer.
