Northwestern G Sobolewski out for Illini

EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) — Northwestern guard Dave Sobolewski will miss Sunday night’s game with against No. 23 Illinois with a concussion.

A junior, Sobolewski, who was injured in practice, is Northwestern’s primary ball-handler and is averaging 7.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. He hasn’t scored in double figures since the Wildcats beat Gardner-Webb on Nov. 25, when he had 10 points.

Over his last five games, Sobolewski is 5 for 30 from the field, and has been scoreless in his last two. The 14 minutes against Iowa on Thursday night were a season low.

JerShon Cobb is expected to replace Sobolewski at point guard.
