NEW YORK (AP) — Phil Greene IV scored 16 points, including a career-best four 3-pointers, to lead St. John’s to a 69-55 win over Dartmouth on Saturday night.

JaKarr Sampson added 13 for the Red Storm, who snapped a five-game losing streak with the win.

It was a close contest throughout the first half. St. John’s took a 38-34 lead to the locker room, and never led by more than seven in the opening period. But they opened the second half with seven straight points and didn’t look back from there.

Greene made three of his four 3-pointers in the first 10 minutes of the contest, carrying the Red Storm through a somewhat sluggish start. Only two days removed from a double-overtime loss to Providence, the Red Storm had trouble finding their legs.

But after Dartmouth took a brief lead, St. John’s quickly recovered and proved dominant in the second half.

John Golden led the way for Dartmouth with 13 points. Connor Boehm scored 7 and pulled down 13 rebounds.
