Alabama State rallies past Alabama A&M 67-58 OT

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Bobby Brown hit a 3-point jump shot with 30 seconds remaining in regulation to take Alabama State into overtime and the Hornets went on to defeat Alabama A&M 67-58 Saturday.

Alabama State (10-6, 4-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference) trailed 51-41 with 3:30 remaining in in the game. Brown hit a 3-pointer with 53 seconds left, tightening the score to 53-48. Jamel Waters, who finished with 17 points, made two free throws and Brown hit his second 3-pointer in less than 30 seconds to tie the game.

Brown started the overtime period with a dunk and the Hornets outscored Alabama A&M (6-9, 3-2) 14-5 for the victory.

Luther Page led the Hornets with 22 points and Brown had 12 points and nine rebounds.

Jeremy Crutcher led the Bulldogs with 15 points.

A&M led 28-23 at the half and held the lead for most of the second half. There were six lead changes.
