Battle Ground teacher, coach of year finalists announced

Six Battle Ground Public Schools employees have been selected as finalists for Teacher of the Year and Coach of the Year. The Battle Ground Chamber of Commerce celebrates community volunteers and mentors at its annual recognition banquet. Winners will be announced at 6 p.m. Feb. 6 at the Battle Ground Community Center.

Teacher of the Year finalists are Julie Drimmel, Daybreak Primary School; Jonas Fridrikkson, Battle Ground High School; and Cory Pierce, Glenwood Heights Primary School.

Coach of the Year finalists are Chris Linquist, girls’ and boys’ head tennis coach, Prairie High School; Harold Lysne, girls’ bowling coach, Battle Ground High School; and Rob Smith, wrestling coach, Prairie High School.
