PORTLAND — Portland police say a 14-year-old brought his parent’s handgun to Franklin High School to settle a dispute with a drug dealer.

Police say he gave the gun to a 15-year-old Tuesday at a restaurant off campus. Other students reported the weapon, and officers found the loaded handgun in the student’s pocket at school.

Both the 14-year-old who brought the gun to school and the 15-year-old who held it were arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm. They were held in Multnomah County juvenile detention.
