MIAMI (AP) — Miami Dolphins assistant general manager Brian Gaine has had a second interview for the team’s job of general manager.

Earlier Friday, New England Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio became the eighth candidate to interview for the position.

Gaine was general manager Jeff Ireland’s top assistant the past three years. Ireland left after six seasons on Jan. 7 when he and owner Stephen Ross agreed to part ways.

Caserio rose to the top of the Patriots’ personnel department in 2008 and rebuilt a team that reached the AFC title game this season. He has also been director of pro personnel and receivers coach for the Patriots.

Tennessee Titans vice president of player personnel Lake Dawson also remains a contender for the job.
