MIAMI (AP) — New England Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio has become the eighth candidate to interview for the job of general manager with the Miami Dolphins.

Caserio interviewed on Friday. He rose to the top of the Patriots’ personnel department in 2008 and rebuilt a team that reached the AFC title game this season. He has also been director of pro personnel and receivers coach for the Patriots.

The Dolphins are expected to interview finalists soon, with Titans vice president of player personnel Lake Dawson and Dolphins assistant general manager Brian Gaine considered top contenders. Interviews began Jan. 10 in the search to replace Jeff Ireland, who left after six seasons when he and owner Stephen Ross agreed to part ways.
