Cormier leads Loyola (Md) past Colgate 67-60

BALTIMORE (AP) — Dylon Cormier scored 21 points and Loyola (Md) beat Colgate 67-60 Saturday night.

Nathan Harries hit a 3-point shot with 1:23 to play, pulling Colgate (7-12, 1-7 Patriot League) within three, 61-58, before a layup by R.J. Williams pushed the Loyola lead to five with 51 seconds remaining. Luke Roh found Ethan Jacobs for a layup 11 seconds later, making it 63-60. Denzel Brito extended the Greyhounds’ lead to 65-60. Jacobs missed a layup with 22 seconds left and Williams hit a pair of free throws to complete the scoring with 19 seconds on the clock.

Williams scored 15 points to go along with four assists and four steals.

Murphy Burnatowski finished with 13 points and Harries added 10. Jacobs finished with 11 points and seven rebounds.

Loyola (9-10, 4-4) trailed 11-2 just more than 3 minutes into the game before taking the lead for good with a 22-7 run.
