ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) — Macaabra won the $58,000 Milky Way Purse for older fillies and mares by a half-length at Santa Anita on Friday.

Ridden by Flavien Prat, Macaabra ran 612 furlongs on the downhill turf course in 1:13 and paid $44.20, $12.80 and $7.20 at 21-1 odds.

Zanbo returned $4.40 and $3, while Diaminda was another 112 lengths back in third and paid $4.80 to show.

Mesana, the 6-5 favorite, was never a factor and finished seventh.

The victory was worth $34,800 and gave Macaabra four wins in 11 career starts, with four of those races coming in the United States.
