Mercer trounces Stetson 87-49

MACON, Ga. (AP) — Anthony White Jr. tied a career high with 19 points and Mercer rolled over Stetson 87-49 for its seventh consecutive win Saturday.

Mercer (17-5, 8-1 Atlantic Sun Conference) blew the game open with 24 unanswered points to open a 26-4 lead, as White made three of his five 3-pointers during the stretch.

The Bears held a 49-24 halftime lead, shooting 61.3 percent from the field in the half and making 7 of 12 3-point attempts.

Mercer continued to dominate in the second half, and maintained first place in the Atlantic Sun with the win.

For the game, the Bears had a field-goal percentage of 57.4 percent and made 11 of 22 3-pointers. Stetson (6-15, 4-5) shot 34.7 percent from the field and made 6 of 21 3-pointers.

Darious Moten scored 15 points for Mercer and Bud Thomas had 13. Jibri Bryan added 12.

Willie Green led Stetson with 10 points.
