Ryan Villopoto wins Supercross race in Oakland

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Three-time defending series champion Ryan Villopoto won the AMA Supercross race Saturday night at O.co Coliseum, easily holding off James Stewart.

Villopoto, the Kawasaki star from Poulsbo, Wash., raced to his second 450SX victory in the first four rounds of the season. A 10-time winner last season, he has 36 career victories.

Chad Reed was third, and Ryan Dungey finished fourth.

Villopoto leads the season standings, seven points ahead of Reed.

KTM’s Jason Anderson raced to his third Western Regional 250SK Class victory in the first four races, taking the lead on the last lap when Dean Wilson momentarily slowed.
