Sam Houston dominates Abilene Christian 70-51

ABILENE, Texas (AP) — James Thomas and Jabari Peters each scored 12 points as Sam Houston State dominated Abilene Christian 70-51 Saturday.

Kaheem Ransom made a 3-point jumper to start Sam Houston (14-6, 6-2 Southland Conference) on an 11-3 run early in the first half. The Bearkats closed the first half on a 10-4 run to a 36-24 halftime lead. An 11-0 run midway of the second half extended the Bearkats lead to 51-30 with 11:37 left in the game. Abilene Christian (7-13, 1-5) could never get closer than 10 points in the second half.

Aurimas Majauskas and Nathaniel Mason each had nine points for Sam Houston. Majauskas also pulled down nine rebounds as the Bearkats won the rebound battle 30 to 23.

Jacob Lancester led the Wildcats with 12 points and Julian Edmonson and Parker Wentz had 11 each.
